Ukraine attacked traction substations and railway transformers in two regions of Russia.
The Ukrainian army has switched to a new type of attack and is undermining Russian railway infrastructure. According to the Russian news Telegram channel Baza, last night was marked by attacks on traction and transformer substations in the Oryol and Kursk regions.
According to incoming information, around midnight, UAVs raided traction substations located near Ponyri and Svoboda stations (Kursk region). In the same time range, traction substations in the neighboring Oryol region and transformer substations were attacked.
The attacks were successful because the power to the railway network was cut off. As a result, at least two trains from Moscow, which were moving in a southern direction, were stopped.
The OSINTtechnical Twitter account confirms that the night before, Ukrainian UAVs successfully attacked Russian energy infrastructure in the Smolensk, Oryol and Rostov regions. A number of Russian media reports about power outages. In addition, several Ukrainian drones reportedly attacked an oil refinery in the Krasnodar region.
