According to Polish Minister Sikorski, it is necessary to put the Kremlin ruler in a situation where he does not know what the West's next step will be.
The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radoslaw Sikorski, considers the position of French President Emmanuel Macron correct, not excluding any options in the context of the possible dispatch of French troops to Ukraine.
The Polish minister believes that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin needs to be kept in uncertainty regarding the West's next steps, reports RMF 24.
Answering the question whether Warsaw allows the possibility of sending its military to Ukraine, Sikorsky said that the Polish side “will not reveal its cards.”
“Let Putin think about what we will do ,” the minister emphasized. The head of the foreign ministry also said that Poland spends 4% of GDP on defense and could spend even more in 2025.
Journalists asked Sikorsky whether there is a direct threat to Poland from the Russian Federation. According to the minister, Putin is not so reckless as to attack a country that is a member of the North Atlantic Alliance.
At the same time, the chief of Polish diplomacy added that the Kremlin ruler was reckless enough to invade Ukraine and become a war criminal.
According to Sikorsky, the war in Ukraine can only end when Putin realizes that the cost of continuing it is higher than the goal the Kremlin is trying to achieve . Commenting on the possibility of negotiations, the minister said that there are a sufficient number of countries that could act as mediators.
China, in particular, could force Putin to end the war, but there are no signs to date that the Russian dictator is willing to negotiate.
