The Belgian defense department made an important statement about the transfer of F-16 combat aircraft to Ukraine.
It is noteworthy that this will be carried out at the expense of frozen Russian assets. This statement was made during a joint briefing between the head of the Belgian defense department, Prime Minister Ludovin Dedonder and Alexander De Croo, respectively, as reported by BRF .
Thus, the head of the Belgian Ministry of Defense stated that their state intends to transfer F-16 combat aircraft so that Ukraine can defend itself as quickly as
possible. The Brussels authorities are doing everything to ensure that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have these “birds” this year.
In addition, the head of the department added that Belgium’s ability to defend itself will not decrease in any way due to the transfer of the above-mentioned military equipment to Ukraine.
According to a statement by the head of the Belgian government, the transfer of the aircraft will be financed from income from the frozen assets of the Russian
Federation. That is, this will definitely not be carried out with the money of Belgian taxpayers.
